SRI has conducted economic development, workforce/human capital development, innovation, and science and technology assignments in more than 120 countries across every continent and in every U.S. state. Through these projects, SRI staff has built rich experience adapting and tailoring their program planning and implementation skills to varied environments and is accomplished in smoothly conducting complex projects in countries throughout the world. In recent years, SRI has developed particular depth and expertise in Asia and the Middle East, with continuing emphasis on economic, science policy, and technological matters important to American clients.
SRI has expertise working on behalf of a wide range of U.S. organizations, including corporations, public-private partnerships, chambers of commerce, associations, nonprofit organizations and foundations, public agencies, and governments at all levels – municipal, regional, state and national. Our capabilities are sought by federal government agencies such as the National Science Foundation, the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Department of Education, the Department of Labor, the Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration and Federal Highway Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), among others. At the state and local government levels, sample clients include the City of Seattle, the Central Florida Development Council, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Ohio Department of Economic Development, and the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology. Our work for associations and nonprofits is similarly broad, involving the National Academies of Science, the Wildlife Conservation Society, the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance, the Dallas Citizens Council, the World Golf Foundation and the Global Spa Summit.
The Middle East region has made rapid strides in all aspects of their regional and national innovation systems during the last several decades, and SRI International has participated in this development by engaging in many projects throughout the region.
