Since she joined SRI in 1990, Ophelia Yeung has led and participated in economic and workforce development projects in dozens of countries and U.S. regions. Ms. Yeung specializes in policy and competitiveness assessments and in developing action strategies through close collaboration with key public and private stakeholder groups. Her recent work has focused on institutional and program design and strategy development, including, for example, design and launch of an energy and environmental research institute and strategic planning for a major women’s university in the Middle East. She has also undertaken regional economic planning taking into account socio-economic conditions and human resource development. Ms. Yeung also has expertise in assessing industry competitiveness, developing industry strategies, identifying consumer drivers and trends, conducting economic analysis, and analyzing emerging products and processes to find new investment opportunities for public and private sector clients. Prior to joining SRI, Ms. Yeung worked for the American Express Bank, Asian Development Bank, and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. Ms. Yeung received her B.A. in Economics magna cum laude from Smith College and her Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University.
