Ophelia Yeung, Co-Director of the Center for Science, Technology and Economic Development, has more than twenty years of experience leading and conducting economic and workforce development projects in dozens of countries and U.S. regions. Ms. Yeung specializes in policy and competitiveness assessments and in developing action strategies through close collaboration with key public and private stakeholder groups. Recently, she led an SRI team in partnership with the Brookings Institution to develop an economic diversification strategy for the state of Nevada. Her recent work has also focused on institutional, research program and strategy development, including assistance to launch several technology and policy research institutions in the Middle East. She has co-led several SRI projects to conduct strategic planning for universities in Saudi Arabia, including Princess Noura University, Imam University, and most recently, King Khaled University. Ms. Yeung also has expertise in benchmarking, economic impact assessments, and developing strategies for private sector clients such as FedEx, Samsung Corporation, and the Global Spa Summit. Prior to joining SRI, Ms. Yeung worked for the American Express Bank, Asian Development Bank, and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. Ms. Yeung received her B.A. in Economics magna cum laude from Smith College and her Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University.
